Installation
The pole steps approximately 10 inches into the soil. Install it in firm, level ground and confirm that the pole is upright and securely anchored before adding the feeder. Choose a visible location away from predators and structures that squirrels or other animals could use to reach the feeder.
Nectar and Care
Prepare hummingbird nectar using four parts water to one part plain white sugar. Do not use red dye. Clean the glass bottle and feeder base regularly, changing the nectar more frequently during warm weather.
The Best-1 base removes from the pole and disassembles for easier cleaning. Hand-wash the components with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
Keep the Ant-Mote™ filled with fresh water to maintain the ant barrier. Under normal conditions, its water supply may last approximately two days, although evaporation will vary with temperature and weather.
