Each Nectar Guard Tip has a soft, flexible membrane in the center. When a hummingbird inserts its bill into the feeding port, the membrane opens and allows the bird to reach the nectar. Once the hummingbird pulls its bill out, the membrane closes again, creating a barrier that helps prevent bees, wasps and other flying insects from getting through the feeding port.
Simple idea, but very effective.

The Nectar Guard Tips install on the underside of the feeding ports on compatible Aspects hummingbird feeders. They simply slide into place — no tools required.
